Why I’m Running for Senate

Meet Amal Ibrahim
Amal Ibrahim is a community organizer who came to the United States as an immigrant from Somalia in 1999. She moved to Minnesota in 2012 and built strong ties while working as a cultural liaison helping immigrant communities connect to essential resources. She is currently a small business owner focused on health care services.
She is building a broad multiracial coalition across the 26 precincts of Bloomington and Edina — working toward a future where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
Learn MoreOn the Issues
Amal's campaign is focused on three key priorities: Economic Development, Healthcare, and Education — the issues that matter most to families in Bloomington and Edina. She will also fight to defend civil liberties, protect our environment, ensure affordable housing, and build safe, thriving neighborhoods for everyone.
